This is our favorite group of the year. It is the group where we are gone most of the day and have group into the night. We also have a dutch oven cook off with the youth. This year the focus was on empathy and how the youth can show empathy to their victims. It was a really great day.

Bryce Canyon
Bryce Canyon was one of the last therapy days we had. It's crazy that this place is such a short distance from us! It is an amazing place, if you have not been, you should take the chance and go there. We spent the hike discussing trials in one's life and how to over come those trials. It made for a great discussion.

Cascade Falls and Navajo Lake
This past week we took the youth out on another hike. The boys really like getting out and seeing new things. This is Cascade Falls. It is a short hike with some cool views of Zion National Park. After this hike we went on a longer hike around Navajo Lake. We ate lunch and then played in the water.
We stopped during these hikes many times and discussed mindfulness and living in the moment.

You Have to Believe
In the past few weeks I have found a few motivational videos on YouTube that are amazing. I have been showing them in group and individual sessions. I had one of my clients bring this in and the client wanted to share it on the blog. I really like it and hope that it helps the client that wrote it and anyone else who needs to believe.
You have
to believe in yourself to achieve your dreams life doesn't wait for you ,you
have to want what you can get and if you don’t you will fail failure is an
excuse we make for ourselves when we don’t get something right the first time
when we don’t understand something the first time and that’s why when that
happens you keep walking you keep moving you keep dreaming you keep believing
and you don’t stop until you have achieved every dream you have ever wanted and
when you’re at your wits end and you don’t want to keep moving
When you
do something wrong and you get a lot of crap for it and people yell at you and
tell you that you should know better that’s when you know! That you are working
your hardest because everyone else knows you are and want to see you succeed!
Then you know you are not alone there will always be someone who shares the
same dream you just have to be willing to go out and find them not everyone
will appreciate who you are there are going to be people who push you down and
crush you to the point of giving up and you choose to let that happen or you
choose to let it lift you because it doesn't matter what others think of you if
people say you suck your trash your worth nothing then you be the one to say I
am doing my best and that’s all that matters cause at the end of the day if you
feel like you have accomplished something if you feel happy about how your day
went you will know with the surety of a higher being that you can succeed
you will succeed and nothing will stop you no
one can stop you, you are a force of nature that can’t be stopped and won’t be
stopped if people tell you your awesome that your inspiring that you are the stuff the stars are made of then you let
that raise you up higher than what you can reach alone cause life was meant to
be lived to its fullest extent and you aren't here to just waste your time away
your here to show what you can do to make yourself better and to lift other
people up as high as their lifting you
and if
you don’t say thank you and you don’t say I’m sorry once in a while you will
find yourself not being satisfied you
will feel as low as low can get and when you hit rock bottom I want to hear you
say I know I can because there is no such thing as I think I can if you think
it you still aint doin it because with ought the action there is no achievement
I want to see you go for your dreams remember we are all of us in the gutter
but some of us are looking up at the stars if you refuse to look then you are
choosing to refuse to believe it doesn't matter what you have done or what you
did what matters is that you choose do better from then on from now on
If you accept the feedback people give you
then you will be better for it people have to think that you care before they
care what you think. you think you know how people feel you think you know what
has happened in people’s lives you think you know everything well guess what
you don’t the only thing you know is who you are and who you want to be I want
to see you say I feel for you I understand you that’s feeling empathy that’s
knowing you have had to deal with the same exact situation people have to know
that they are loved it’s our biggest weakness we have to be noticed and
appreciated if we aren't then we choose to give up
why ,why
does giving up come up so much there is no excuse for giving up it’s all a
simple choice it comes with free agency you are free to choose but you are not
free from the consequences of those choices the sooner you accept that the
sooner you will know that you are on your way to success.

The 90/10 Principle and Red Cliffs
The 90/10 Principle: 10% of life is made of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react.
Recently we went to Red Cliffs. It was a beautiful day.
The hike taught us a lot that day. We had to use the 90/10 Principle a few times on that hike.
I really can't say how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place.
Here are some pictures below.

SUU Animal Ambassadors
Today we had the privilege of having the SUU Animal Ambassadors come visit and share their knowledge with us. The students who came were all Biology Majors at Southern Utah University. They discussed possible careers one could have with a biology major and showed the youth some pretty neat animals. The youth were able to pet the snakes, tarantulas, hissing roaches, lizards and geckos. Even one of the staff was able to participate. Sorry for the blurry picture, but I don't think Sefa liked the snake that much.
We are thankful for the chance to have these students come visit us and share their knowledge and experiences with us.
